Save the date: Training Lab (March 3-5, 2027)

Nick Falvo Consulting is partnering with Homes First to deliver a three-day immersive Training Lab exploring the programs, practices and service-delivery approaches of one of North America’s most dynamic non-profit housing and homelessness service providers.

Participants will get an inside look at Homes First’s operations and learn how the organization delivers a wide range of short- and long-term housing and support programs for people experiencing homelessness.

Through interactive discussions, presentations and visits to several Homes First locations, the Training Lab will explore topics such as:

  • Building and program design
  • Supporting people with complex needs
  • Effective service-delivery approaches
  • Community engagement and neighbourhood relations
  • Operational challenges, promising practices and lessons learned

The Training Lab is designed primarily for Directors, Managers and Supervisors. A limited number of emerging leaders and experienced front-line staff may also participate. Registration is expected to be capped at 30 participants to support a highly engaging and interactive experience.

Several virtual webinars will be held in advance of the in-person Training Lab to introduce participants to key concepts and prepare them for the site visits and discussions.

Following the Training Lab, Dr. Nick Falvo will prepare a comprehensive report summarizing key insights, learnings and promising practices identified throughout the experience.

The event takes place in Toronto. Participants will be responsible for their own travel and accommodations. Out-of-town attendees will be encouraged to stay at a recommended Toronto hotel, where a group rate may be arranged.

Registration fees will be comparable to those of similar professional conferences and training opportunities. Registration opens October 13, 2026.
